Honours and list of honorary members of the Oudstudentenbond VUB, submitted by the Oudstudentenbond
Since the beginning of the 1980s, the Oudstudentenbond VUB (OSB – the alumni association of the VUB) has each year awarded one or more honorary memberships to people who have made worthy contributions to the OSB, the VUB and/or liberty. The first years the honorary members received a salver as a memento of this memorable event, after which this salver was replaced by the now well-known OSB pyramid.
The list of honorary members includes many illustrious persons. They have all been very important to OSB in one way or another. By giving the list and the trophies a place in the Secular Humanist Time Capsule, OSB wants to ensure that their names will ring a bell for future generations.
The honorary members are honoured at the annual friends meal and receive a badge of honour as a souvenir. Here you see the salver of Gustaaf Baeteman (2008) and the pyramid of Luc Vanhee (2012).
